In class, start with a discussion about the different types of blood using the manipulatives in activity 1. After chatting about the types of blood using the blood type manipulatives, students move on to an online blood transfusion activity. Then, the next day a principal dies in class and the students have to test blood types to determine which suspect did it. Students are assessed multiple ways. First, each video has 3 check for understanding questions in the student accountability assignment. To prove that they watched the video, students were expected to be able to answer one of the three questions, chosen randomly, verbally. Also, students are assessed by observing their ability to model a blood types using the manipulatives (activity 1), and transfuse a patient without killing them on the online game (activity 2), and if they could determine who killed the principal (activity 3).
